It’s worth reading all the headings before beginning the installation process

We can install the Oracle database by following the steps below.

Oracle Enterprise Linux 5-6U should be installed prior to the following steps. The installation steps shown here are the same as those in rac1.

Silent Install

The Oracle client should be installed on the machine that will access the Oracle server. If the aim is to access the server only for applications then Oracle client will suffice, however for administration and management duties additional admin packages also need to be installed.
